Where to find the chat

  • Connected: everything works.
  • Reconnecting...: the connection was lost, the chat tries again by itself.
  • Disconnected — click to reconnect: click to start the connection again.
A room you may not see does not appear. A Log in to join the conversation. message (or Log in or register to join the conversation.) replaces the writing area if you are not logged in, or if you may not write.

Writing a message

  2. Type your text.

If sending fails, Failed to send is shown with the reason.

Emoji and smilies

  • You can also type a smilie shortcut of the forum, for example .
  • Depending on the administrator's setting, the picker offers the Unicode emoji and the smilies of the forum, or only the smilies.

Mentioning someone

Type @ followed by the beginning of the name: a list of members opens. Choose with the arrows ↑ ↓ then Enter or Tab (Esc closes the list). The name becomes a clickable mention in the message.

Attaching files

The Attach files button adds files (images included) to the message, with the same size and type limits as the rest of the forum. An SVG file is offered for download and is not displayed in the message.

Replying to a message

In the menu of a message (Message actions), choose Reply. A Replying to NAME banner appears above the writing area and the message you reply to is highlighted. Send your text as usual. To cancel: the cross of the banner or Esc (Cancel reply).

  • In an empty room: No messages yet. Be the first to say something!

If you are banned from a room

A moderator can ban you from a room, for a time or for good. You no longer see the room and cannot write in it (You are banned from this room.). The ban ends when it runs out or when a moderator lifts it.

Visitors who are not logged in (guests)

A guest can read a room only if the administrator gave them the permission; they can never write. They then see the login message in place of the writing area. They do not appear in the list of online members.
